Preschool Age Aquatics

Ages 2 – 5 years

This age group may include beginners or swimmers graduating from our parent-child classes. At this level, we begin encouraging more independence in the water. Children learn to respect deeper water, explore buoyancy without flotation devices, and begin moving through the water on their own. These skills are still taught through play-based learning, and whenever possible, we aim for a child-led approach. We incorporate plenty of games and toys to help each child achieve their goals in a fun and engaging way. Depending on your child’s current skill level, we may recommend private lessons until independent flotation is mastered. Graduation from this program to Level One requires a skills assessment and is based on ability, not age.

Independence through play based learning

Preschool aged children are experimenting with the rules and want to show their independence when possible. We nurture that desire and used play based learning to teach water safety, respect and independence. Classes will be taught at a pace that is comfortable to the child but still pushes them to try new things. Perfect for the kids who are looking for an opportunity to show off what they can do!
