Preschool Age Aquatics

Ages 2 – 5

This age group of swimmers may be beginners or they may be graduating from our parent child classes. At this level we are experimenting with more independence in the water, a respect for deep water, buoyancy without floatation devices and moving through the water independently. These skills are still taught with play based learning at this age and where possible we like this to be a child led activity. We use lots of games and toys for the kids to accomplish their goals. Depending on the skill level we recommend private lessons until floatation is achieved independently. Graduation from this program into level one will require a skills test and is not age based.

Independence through play based learning

Preschool aged children are experimenting with the rules and want to show their independence when possible. We nurture that desire and used play based learning to teach water safety, respect and independence. Classes will be taught at a pace that is comfortable to the child but still pushes them to try new things. Perfect for the kids who are looking for an opportunity to show off what they can do!
